I seem to have some plugins in my C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\ folder and some specify 64bit, which most are. What is the deal with VST3 plugins? My D16 VST's are in the VST3 section of Live, whilst NI's majority sit in the VST section. I have done just that and am rescanning everything now. Roger, that, mate! That is incredibly helpful to know. Sebastian is quite amazing and the rest of the D16 group. I am also looking forward to getting your D16 NKS products, as I use them all the time, especially the LuSH-101. Thanks for any insight you might have on this. I am slightly delighted to have narrowed this issue down to just Kontakt within KK, but don't understand why that is failing.
My NI versions are the absolute latest of 13 Ultimate. I have to load it and then it will work flawlessly until the next time I open the project. I have to go into KK, which does have Noire loaded, but not with the proper patch. When I put it inside of KK, it simply does not.

When I have Noire naked in Live 11, it loads the patch and plays perfectly. In this last project, I was using Noire with a custom patch.
I quickly added some to my latest project and they load perfectly, and the S88 is nicely tied to them and they do what they are supposed to do. The issue does NOT seem to be with any Reaktor based synths or rather with any non-Kontakt based instruments.

I have added the NI midi script update for Live 11. I have just figured out that it is *actually* Kontakt within KK that is presenting the problem! And yes, I have been mightily frustrated with this problem for a long while. If things are setup correctly it should all work, was literally tracking a song last night and have it open right now with 4 KK tracks so issue is not KK or Ableton Live 11 from my POVįair on ya, Jason.

Check if you may have multiple KK plugins on your computer, can easily happen if you are windows and you manually move or rename the plugin file.įailing that, do a simple controlled test by starting a new project, load KK with an instrument, save it then reopen and check if it loads. Check/uncheck the option in preferences to use latest version of plugin (I have it unchecked because I use older Komplete 10 instruments) Check if you have the plugin in question in the plugins list in preferences As a backup, I also add (or try remember to add) a track comment for each track for the plugin and preset used just in case I need to find that instrument one day (since KK was not designed well enough to notify of which plugin is missing.)

I use Live 11 and KK and S Series S61 MK1 and have no issues with KK not recalling the plugin I used. If you can't use NKS wrapping to take advantage of your expensive NI controller(s) and their tight integration with your NI synths/sounds, what's the point of having them or using them? None, that I can think of.Ĭlick to expand.Maybe less ranting and more details would help (such as OS for a start) That's incredibly useless and a waste of time, energy, effort, etc. Think about that work flow: You craft up your song with many tracks using NI sounds/synths controlled from your NI controller(s), then you have to go back and duplicate all of those tracks with just the raw plugin just so they will load the patch when you open the song? Nope. You're (hopefully) a better company than that. Now that that's been completed, the patches still won't load? Come on, NI. It took a long time to simply get the S MK1 series keyboards set up and the KK ADG instrument rack for Live 11. The real questions is Why Wouldn't You Want To Have KK be the Default On All Your Tracks? I have Live songs with 20+ tracks that all have KK on them, because I want my S-88 MK1 keyboard to be able to show me my Battery splits, my Damage 2 ensembles, my Kontakt key assigns, etc. It's actually ludicrous that KK wouldn't simply load up your patch automatically in Live 11.
